Kenilworth School and Sports College is about to embark on a new phase of development. Following the recent appointment of a new Head the school is now seeking a Deputy Head to play a key role in the new senior leadership team.
This post will give you the opportunity to develop your leadership and management skills across a large multi-site school. Our challenge is to ensure that our staff work as a team to raise achievement in the school to new levels.
As one of the lead professionals you will:
- Ensure high and consistent standards in teaching and learning across the school
- Develop and provide a curriculum to meet the needs of each student
- Ensure policies and processes are implemented consistently including the management of behaviour
- Line manage and hold accountable the academic and pastoral teams
- Lead the school’s self evaluation processes
You will teach for approximately a third of a timetable and will be expected to provide a visible presence to students and parents alike. In a large school at the centre of its community you will be expected to play a part in the further development of extended community and partnership relationships.
Kenilworth School and Sports College is a popular and oversubscribed school in central Warwickshire, serving the town of Kenilworth and the surrounding area. Ofsted (March 2004) classified the school as good with a very good sixth form. Attainment is well above average across all key stages.
